What Do You Think?

Just in time for the Utah Jazz season home opener tomorrow , EnergySolutions Arena's name has been changed to Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Though financial details of the 10-year agreement have not yet been made public, Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment announced a partnership last week with Vivint that includes the naming rights for the downtown Salt Lake City arena, home of the Utah Jazz.

When the building was completed in 1991, it was known as The Delta Center. That partnership lasted until 2006, when it was renamed EnergySolutions Arena. The 19,911-seat facility hosts about 1.8 million guests and more than 100 sports and entertainment events each year. The basketball court is named for Larry H. Miller, who spearheaded the construction of the building 25 years ago. Construction began on June 11, 1990, and was completed in record time – 15 months and 24 days later, at a cost of $66 million. The arena boasts 50 luxury suites, an All-Star Suite and an Executives Club, three sky suites on level six, and numerous hospitality and multipurpose rooms.

As for Provo-based Vivint, Forbes recently named them to their list of "America's Best Employers."
