Utah Was Fastest Growing State in 2016

According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, Utah was the fastest growing state in the country in 2016. The Beehive State added 60,585 residents last year, which helped us to reach another milestone: we topped the 3 million mark for number of residents. Our population grew by just over 2%, according to the census report.

Nevada, our neighbor to the west, was the second fastest-growing state, with a rate of 1.95%, which means they could see their 3 millionth resident some time this year. Clark County saw the most growth. That's especially good news for Southern Utah contractors, who live within commuting distance of the Las Vegas area.

It seems the west in general leads the nation in population growth, with Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and Colorado coming in just behind Utah. While Utah's news doesn't surprise anyone, it is further proof of our strong economy and a sign of what contractors will be facing for years to come: plenty of work.
