Three Marketing Tips to Help You Reach More Customers
For most business owners (and contractors are no exception) marketing is tough. You know it's important, but budgets are tight and you don't have a dedicated marketing staff. NAHB recently ran an article for marketing on a tight budget. Here, we've compiled three marketing tips to help you reach more customers.
1. Do Your Homework
Know the area where you are planning to build. Visit the local surroundings - convenience stores, shopping centers, etc. to give you an idea of your potential clientele. If you take the time to understand your potential customers' lifestyles, it will give you a better understanding of how best to meet their needs. Understanding what’s on your buyer’s mind, and then using your product or community to address that, can help boost interest and ultimately, sales. Successfully addressing buyer needs can increase a builder’s conversation rate.
2. Use Technology
Many shoppers in the pre-purchase stage start their search online. It's worth investing in a high-quality website. Your website is the often the first contact someone will have with your business, so make sure it's user-friendly, interactive, and informative.
Social media is another great way to attract customers - but only if you're willing to engage with them. If you're going to use social media, prepare to be just that: social. Answer questions, respond to comments, and offer helpful tips.
3. Use Non-Tech Materials
It may be old-school, but old-school can still be effective. Bright, colorful, and eye-catching signage is still important. Pristine model homes with leaflets and flyers available for people to take are also important. Establish relationships with realtors who can drive customers to your products and services.
What it all comes down to is putting your best foot forward. Know the trends and understand your clientele.
