Solar Market Sets Records in 2015
NAHB is reporting that 2015 will be a record-setting year for the residential solar market. "The third quarter set another record for growth of residential solar installations, increasing 69% year over year and accounting for 41% of the U.S. solar market," according to a report released on December 17.
As Americans increasingly embrace solar technology, design trends will be reflected in home building in the coming years. Most homeowners shy away from adding solar panels because they detract from the overall aesthetics of their homes. However, new innovations and designs are actually adding to the aesthetic feel.
“Just within the last few years we’ve seen the viewpoints of architects and owners change a great deal, to where they seem to be increasingly looking for ways to integrate solar panels in a way that’s visually appealing,” said James Hannah, director of client energy services at Bright Power .
Hannah says the key is to integrate solar panels into the design as early on as possible.
If you can offer solar panels to your clients in a way that is visually appealing, they will be more likely to commit because the financial and environmental impacts are already in place. By staying current on design trends in the solar market, you can offer your clients a product that will enhance their overall lifestyle.
