The Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management, a division of the state's Department of Administrative Services, has named Eric Tholen as its director.
Mr. Tholen was formerly the vice president and co-owner of EFT Architects Inc. He comes to the position with 35 years of experience in the construction industry, specializing in value engineering, project and program management, architectural design, facilities programming and forensic architecture.
The Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM) is the building manager for all State owned facilities and is responsible for:
All Aspects of Construction and Maintenance of State Buildings
Assisting the Utah State Building Board in Developing its Recommendations for Capital Development Projects and Allocating Capital Improvement Funds
Overseeing all Non-Higher Education and Non-Judicial Branch Leases
Controlling the Allocation of State Owned Space
Mr. Tholen has previously managed projects for various government agencies, including the U.S. Courts, U.S. Marshals Service, Social Security Administration, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Postal Service. He now returns to Utah to manage such projects on the state level.
