Construction of Utah's Second Medical School Underway

According to a recent report in The Spectrum, "Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine officials announced at an accreditation site visit Tuesday morning that the Ivins campus is on track to be completed August 2017.

The area of land located at 255 E. Center St. is morphing into a “state-of-the-art” medical education building, complete with auditoriums, a full-scale library, an anatomy lab and a diagnosis lab.

Current RVUCOM faculty and staff toured the construction site and viewed recent exterior and interior renderings of the facility."

The new medical school is expected to not only help boost Southern Utah's economy, but will help bring an influx of much-needed physicians to the area.

RVUCOM's first graduating class will be celebrated in 2021.
