Another Buyer Preference
NAHB conducted a study in 2015 to assess the various preferences of home buyers. Not surprising, the overwhelming majority of people preferred a single-family, detached home.
One preference, however, that came through loud and clear was for that of single-story homes. Nearly 2/3 of those surveyed said they weren't interested in multiple levels. That's not surprising when you look at the large number of seniors and baby boomers who also said they prefer aging in place; and as we've noted before, they're looking for amenities to help them do just that. Gen X-ers and Millennials weren't as concerned about single-level floor plans.
However, one thing that most everyone agreed on was keeping the laundry room on the main level, as opposed to down in a basement.
These are all important things to consider as you look to meet the needs of your clients.
